The Families of Corcasan
Corcasan is an organic coffee from Nicaragua and tastes like caramel and red berries with a creamy body. Staying true to our mission with Buddy Buddy - to connect consumers to our farmers - we chose this coffee not only for it's delicious taste in the cup - but also for what it represents.
Corcasan is a cooperative founded in Madriz, Nicaragua in 1978. This cooperative represents 248 smallholder producers, mostly family farmers, that have been farming their land for generations. Many of the workers picking the coffee are family members living on the land year round.
These families have chosen this life for themselves and their goal is to create a quality cup of coffee. They are investing their time and energy into training themselves on how to combat coffee leaf rust organically and know that the only way forward for healthy, organic coffee is through continually educating themselves on new farming practices. Just like we aim to do at Stay Golden - we must push ourselves forward through innovation. The families at The Corcasan Cooperative aim to do the same thing. That's why we're Buddy Buddy with Corcasan and want to share their story with you today.
Buddy Buddy is all about sharing knowledge to develop a deeper appreciation for the coffee we drink day to day. Share what you've learned with a friend and help us make transparency and farmer information the norm for coffee.
