This is our 2nd year purchasing from Diego and his team at Aquiares and we are so proud! This year we chose a Red Honey processed experimental variety called H1 Centroamericano F1 Hyrid. This variety crosses Sarchimor T-5295 and a wild Rume Sudan variety using a tissue culture cloning process called embryogensis. This variety was distributed 10 years ago, but this is one of the very first productive harvests. The volcanic slopes of Turrialba and the lush forests, rivers and flora & fauna at Aquiares paired with their dedication to caring for the complex nutritional needs of this coffee have given Diego the success he's experienced - and we can absolutely taste the work in the cup! It tastes like raspberry and mango with a syrupy body.
