Coffee Name - Hambela Guji Origin: Oromia, Ethiopia Process: Washed Varietals: Ethiopian Heirloom Altitude: 1900-2200 MASL Tasting Notes: Tangerine, Jasmine, Complex A staff favorite - Guji Hambela is from the Oromia region of Ethiopia. It is an ethiopian heirloom varietal grown between 1,900-2,200 MASL. Hambela operates a coffee plantation and partners with more than 1000 farmers to source coffee. They are committed to working with the local farmers to improve quality and productivity. The Guji region enjoys ideal coffee growing conditions. Its volcanic soil is bursting with nutrients, creating deep red and brown top-layer of soil. The regions' high altitude, bi-modal rainfall pattern and dry weather allow for the cherries to develop slowly. This creates the cup that we taste of tangerine juice with floral qualities in the nose, backed by a sweet and creamy mouthfeel that we believe is unique for an Ethiopian coffee.
